The Red Queen is ABC's Alice in Wonderland's version of the Queen of Hearts or actually the queen who took her place. She is also the Evil Step Sister known as Anastasia from the Cinderella tales, both Disney's version and the Grim Brother's version.
No one is sure how the Red Queen was given her sorceress abilities but she may have stumbled upon Rumplestiltskin at one time or it could be that her jewels are enchanted as whenever she is seen using magic she usually is wearing one of them.
She is also seen as being in love with Will Scarlett but her lust for power over shadows that love at all times. It is noted that the red queen tells Alice that she is still the same scared little girl that first comes to wonderland but it also known that this Red Queen was not the Queen of Hearts that Alice first meet as a little girl.
